"What this pickup can do, to the best of my knowledge, no other pickup in the world can do. If you hit a string in one direction a signal is sent to channel 1. Hitting the same string in the opposite direction sends the signal to channel 2. Bending the string pans the signal from channel 1 to channel 2."
